Our Founders

Hello! We’re Ali and Emily, the dynamic mother-daughter duo behind Pow Food. With backgrounds in luxury hospitality and catering, we founded Pow Food in 2017 with a mission to revolutionise workplace catering with nutrition-first, sustainable food solutions.

During the lockdown, we developed and launched Pow At Home, our chef-prepared meal delivery service. Our goal was to set a new standard in the home market for quality and nutrition.

Our passion for flavourful, nutritious food stems from our own journeys with nutrition and the understanding that what we eat can serve as a “preventative cure” for many health conditions. In a world overflowing with low-quality convenience foods, we believe it’s more important than ever to care about what we eat.

That’s why we’ve made it our mission to empower our customers to enjoy high-quality, nutrient-rich meals that support both personal health and environmental sustainability every day.

Our Creative Head Chef

Charles Merrington has an eminent creative flair for profound taste that transpires through all of his food.

Coming from a family line of catering industry experts (his Grandmother Marie Merrington founded “Gay Gourmet” in the 1970s and published many recipe books), Charlie grew up with food as an intrinsic part of his life. He trained as a chef, working in some of the best restaurants in London and had worked as a Head Chef for 20 years.

As Pow Food's Nutritional advisor I can verify that I work hand in hand with the Pow kitchen team to create menus from scratch that are designed to support gut health, mind and body performance.
They go above and beyond ensuring their foods are exactly what they say they are.

Our professional, passionate and creative teams are from a diverse range of backgrounds and are the life force behind all Pow Food events and services, delivering a unique and personal service for our clients.
