Meet Our Founders

Hello, we're Ali and Emily, a mother and daughter duo with backgrounds in luxury hospitality and catering, with over 50 years of combined experience behind us. We started Pow Food in 2017 with a mission to revolutionise workplace food, providing healthy food that not only improves gut health, immune function and longevity but also promotes traditional farming methods and a more sustainable supply chain, using produce grown with minimal intervention by passionate growers and makers.

Over lockdown, when the nature of office work changed, we decided to take our our zero compromise approach to quality, nutrition and sustainability, and develop a chef prepped home delivery meal service, Pow At Home, that exceeded any other on the market for quality and nutrition.

Our passion for flavourful, healthy food that stands for quality over macros comes from our own journey with nutrition and the knowledge that food holds a key to longevity and can be a “preventional cure” to many health conditions. In today’s world, we have abundant access to nutritionally poor convenience foods, and we don’t take enough time to nourish ourselves properly.

We have made it our mission to help our customers eat highly nutritious, good-quality food that supports both people and the planet on a daily basis.

Meet Our Creative Head Chef

Charles Merrington has an eminent creative flair for profound taste that transpires through all of his food.

Coming from a family line of catering industry experts (his Grandmother Marie Merrington founded “Gay Gourmet” in the 1970s and published many recipe books), Charlie grew up with food as an intrinsic part of his life. He trained as a chef, working in some of the best restaurants in London and had worked as a Creative Head Chef for 20 years.

As Pow Food's Nutritional advisor I can verify that I work hand in hand with the Pow kitchen team to create menus from scratch that are designed to support gut health, mind and body performance.
They go above and beyond ensuring their foods are exactly what they say they are.

Operating 5 star rated kitchens located in Acton, London, we are Safe Contractor accredited and partnered with Peninsula Health and Safety specialists to ensure our practices, policies and procedures are always up to scratch!

All of our menus can offer allergen free options, including and exceeding the noted 14 mainstream allergens and we operate a peanut free kitchen.
