At Pow Food, sustainability isn’t a buzzword — it’s a responsibility. That’s why we’re proud to announce our new partnership with The Future Forest Company, supporting UK based environmental restoration through projects that are transparent, traceable, and truly impactful.
Why This Matters
In our commitment to lowering our environmental footprint, we’ve chosen to support verified peatland restoration projects in North Yorkshire, a vital step in regenerating UK ecosystems and mitigating climate change.
Specifically, we’ve invested in 50 verified Peatland Carbon PIUs (Pending Issuance Units) — enough to mitigate our Scope 1 and 2 emissions. These projects are certified by the UK Government’s Peatland Code, ensuring accountability and real environmental benefit.
What’s the Impact?
-
Restoring vital peatlands — which store more carbon per hectare than forests
-
Regenerating woodlands and wetlands to protect biodiversity
-
Reducing greenhouse gas emissions and strengthening natural carbon sinks
-
Supporting UK-based, local solutions to a global issue
We’re also planting one tree for every Pow Food team member, now and for every new member who joins us — another way we’re taking real, rooted action for the planet.
Why We Don’t Say “Carbon Neutral”
You might notice we’re not claiming to be carbon neutral. That’s intentional. After careful research, we chose not to use vague, unverified offsets. Instead, we’re aligning with The Future Forest Company’s values: clarity over confusion and impact over greenwashing.
We believe in supporting projects with clear, measurable outcomes — and in choosing partners who are just as committed to regeneration, traceability, and truth.
A Healthier Future, Together
This partnership is one step of many on our journey to being a better business for the planet. From sourcing organic, ethically produced ingredients to reducing food waste and packaging impact, we’re constantly reviewing how we can do more — and do better.
We hope this inspires others to think more critically about sustainability claims, and to join us in supporting change that’s local, transparent, and rooted in restoration.
